Mail-safe Mailbox Reducer

What is Mailbox Reducer?

Emails older than a specified number of days are 'swept up' into Mail-safe's central email archive and deleted from the user Mailboxes.

The specified number of days is set as a number of days e.g. 30, 60, 90, 365 days etc from today's date and Mail-safe's Mailbox Reducer will automatically check to see if emails are older than the specified number of days before adding to the email archive and removing from the Mailboxes.  A check is made to ensure that archiving does not cause duplication.

The specified number of days can vary from one Mailbox to the next depending on usage, Mailbox size and status of the user.

What are the benefits of using Mailbox Reducer?

  • No need to use quotas as a means of controlling the size of Mailboxes
  • The Mailbox Reducer process is automatic requiring no intervention once it's set up
  • No emails are ever lost because they are copied to the central email archive, and can be viewed and retrieved at any time by the users (only their own emails) or Administrators
  • No need for users to make decisions about deleting old emails or creating PST files
  • The need for PST files is eliminated
