What is FlickThru?

FlickThru' is the computerised equivalent of a correspondence file, or client file or matters file and is a Windows server/client application solution.  With one simple click all the documents in a file, irrespective of their original computer format, are opened for browsing or flicking through. The different document types within one file can include e-mails, spreadsheets, reports, out-bound letters as well as scanned in-bound letters etc. No more opening each document individually e.g. PDF, DOC, XLS, MSG etc because they are all opened simultaneously so that you can view and scroll through them following a 'thread'. The need for paper based filing with its high cost and limited access is eliminated.

All in-bound and out-bound documents, e-mails, reports from in-house software systems, spreadsheets etc are all filed in one place i.e. individual Client Files. FlickThru is unique because it is very fast at opening up all the documents in the Client File and making them easy to read or browse through. In the time it takes to open one Word, Adobe, Excel file, for example, then FlickThru will have opened 400 and these can be a mixture of document types e.g. e-mail, correspondence etc.

FlickThru is based on current manual systems and includes colour coding of document types and categories, 'threading' of documents together on related topics e.g. Personal Taxation, Corporate Taxation, Audit etc. Comprehensive searching facilities mean that any document or range of documents can be searched for and found very quickly.

FlickThru is a complete Client File solution and includes the manual process of scanning in-bound documents together with electronic routing to interested parties, processing documents via a 'post room' scenario, and has the flexibility to be personalised for individual organisations.

With FlickThru Client Files will not be lost or mislaid, manual filing will be eliminated, all documents and e-mails etc will all be in one place and not spread over many systems, storage costs will eventually be eliminated and space saved. Additionally, access to a Client's File is immediate and all documents are viewable in a few seconds without the need for leaving one's chair.

FlickThru is a Windows MS.NET technology, client/server application that uses a SQL database. It is Enterprise wide with unlimited number of users. It is secure with image encryption and audit trails that satisfy corporate compliance requirements.

What are the benefits?

• Replicates your current manual filing system. You can use the same colour coding for different document types and categories as well as document 'threading' within each correspondence or client file.

• Its very fast. All the documents in a correspondence file or client file are simultaneously opened in a couple of seconds. Documents can be quickly read or browsed or 'flicked through' along with powerful search and view facilities to narrow down and refine searches.

• Comprehensive search and view facilities exist so that individual documents or groups of documents within a correspondence or client file can be searched for by Date, Document Type, Category etc as well as 'free text' searching. Annotated notes can even be added that are similar to written 'post it' notes.

• Less photocopying, no manual filing and physical storage is eliminated.

• Easy to use. Windows application and no changes are required to present flow of generating or receiving different documents. All outbound documents are automatically captured e.g. letters and e-mails etc whilst they are being printed . In bound documents are scanned and indexed or 'tagged' to a correspondence or client file.

• A permanent central record is kept of all correspondence and client files that cannot be lost or mislaid. By using a SQL database together with compression and encryption of the actual documents so that they cannot be changed or altered satisfies corporate compliance and makes for easy backup and restoration.

• Security levels by Group, Role and user can be applied so that sensitive files and documents are kept away from prying eyes e.g. HR files, personal tax files, sensitive agreements etc

FlickThru software is priced at £2280 per annum for an annual license that includes support, maintenance and all upgrades.

Installation costs are based on Techne-Comm's then current daily rate whilst scanners and SQL licenses together with VAT are excluded.
